Getting Settled
Working at Mozilla isn't work… It's a lifestyle, a mission, and a close-nit, yet geographically distributed community.
It's been a week now since I started at Mozilla, and its been an absolute blast so far. More than that its taught me a number of things about myself, and the difference between working at Mozilla, and anywhere else, thanks to convocations I've had with a few friends working on other placements/full-time, as well as my new colleagues. Working at Mozilla isn't work, nor is it a career choice. It's a lifestyle, a mission, and a close-nit, yet geographically distributed community. As to whether my colleagues or managers agree, or even the community itself, it is my opinion of it, and that's okay.
I've spent the week working on a number of projects from those that ate my time to those that are letting me get creative (more to come on that one). Time has also been spent on getting to know my colleagues in the London Space a little better, setting up a new computer, reading many a wiki page, and of course, making coffee ;)
Unless you've read ahead I bet you're thinking I've been making coffee for everyone instead of doing real work. I have to tell you that is not the case, though I had you there for a moment :P
