Aims and Objectives

So its almost time for me to start work, and I still haven't chosen (well in writing anyway) what aims and objectives I'm setting myself for this year.

As a part of my placement I have to have a few aims and objectives that span the entirety placement. They need not be linked directly with my work, however should be things that my work can aid with.

I've already started to think of some, however this is a hard thing to choose, especially due to where I'm working. Working for Mozilla has been a dream of mine for a while. It is quite literally my dream job. On top of this I know I'm going to learn way more than I could possibly imagine right now. Not only that but things I won't be able to anticipate.

Without setting anything in stone yet I know that I want to have some quantifiable aims. Things I can measure. I also want to have objectives that aren't conventional, or the norm. After all I'm going to be working for a proudly unconventional organisation.

These aims and objectives should really be set before I start on Monday… yet I still don't know what I want them to be. I'm not 100% sure what I want to get out of working for Mozilla. I've spent the last 7½ years giving to Mozilla, now I have to work out what I can get? I know Mozilla has given me a lot already. It's thanks to Mozilla that I am the person I am now.

Well… I guess some more thinking is needed. Until then…
